Artist, Windon Newton brings contemporary diversity to Michael Stevenson’s established L.A. Art Box. Windon’s art, his works on paper are in the public collection of major institutions in the southeast coast including the Polk Museum of Art, the Maitland Art Center, and the William R. Hough & Co., along with numerous private clients and collectors.
1984-2002, Windon co-partnered the Gessford and Newton Art Studios of Lakeland, Florida. He traveled extensively in Europe seeking art adventures attending several artist-in-residencies, including the Otto Flath Stiftung and Exhibition located in Bad Segeberg, Germany during 1993-4. Since 2003, Windon Newton has established himself and his art studio in California, now partnering with Michael Stevenson and LA Art Box. Windon offers the clients of La Art Box his expertise in creating and interpreting contemporary fine art, including his skills in repairing damaged art, designing, producing and assembling museum quality framing, appraisals and lecturing. Berlin 2008
2008 Michael Stevenson travels to Berlin with his new partner and one of LA Art Box’s major clients. They visited various Berlin Museums, including the new Ethnographic Museum, with its distinctive style of installations.
Honolulu 2005
2005 Michael Stevenson Visits the Doris Duke Islamic Collection at her estate in Honolulu, and explores conservation techniques at the Honolulu Academy of Fine Arts and Bishop Museum of Art.
Rome and Florence 2005

In November of 2005 Michael traveled to Rome and Florence. His purpose
was to research the painting styles of Renaissance masters, mosaic
preservation, and mounting techniques used in Florentine museums.

Michael is researching the mounting techniques used in the Opera del Duomo museum in Florence. The decorations are extremely heavy and therefore difficult to mount. They were once displayed in a bell tower outdoors but are now indoors for protection.

Paris 2004

In 2004 Michael traveled to Paris to research textile mounting and
conservation at the Louvre.The following is an example he documented.
