Angeles, Pasadena and Toluca Lake.
Art Restorer
As an art restorer, Mike uses his skills to
repair oil
paintings, prints, photographs,
lithographs, antique picture frames, and all Oriental art. Mike, as an art restorer
and picture framer,
works with many different materials, such as porcelain,
ceramics, bronze, textiles, marble
and animation cells. Since he is so knowledgeable in the
Oriental art field, Mike
often serves as a consultant to museums with Oriental art collections, such as
the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena. He is, therefore, obviously
skilled in art restoration
with materials such as ivory, cloisonné, jade and silk.
Art Appraiser
Art Appraiser for
"Art & Antiques"
magazine.
Mike is a knowledgeable art appraiser
in all facets.
Be sure and read his comments beginning in the
September 2000
issue of the "Art & Antiques"
magazine. Mike's art appraiser research is detailed, and he is excellent in presenting
his results.
Conservation Picture Framer
Mike is an outstanding conservation picture framer. He uses
all non-acidic materials, including matting and backing. This means that the
framed picture
will
retain its original condition and not be subjected to environmental conditions.
Continuing Education
Mike, as an art restorer, art appraiser and
conservation picture framer,
continues his studies in various areas with worldwide experts.
Here is Mike attending a glass restoration
workshop at the University of London with Sandra Davison, who is regarded as the
leader in her field. Mike was very excited to study under her guidance because
of the knowledge he gained and the prestige of being one of the few art restorers
selected to attend her workshop.

Is Mike Expensive?
By now, you may be thinking that Mike is a very expensive
art restorer, art appraiser and conservation picture framer since
he so frequently
works on rare pieces. But you will be pleasantly surprised to find that his
prices can be considerably lower than his competitors as Mike does not maintain
an expensive gallery. He is
not focused on the material value of any item but on the quality and results
of his work.

Mike applies his same professional skills as an art restorer
to a
child's paper maché dinosaur that has sentimental value as he would to a
museum-quality Ming Dynasty porcelain vase.
