Pluto Concept Drawing

For Animation

The Pluto Concept Drawing

Original concept drawings are done in pencil and are used to create the story or plot of the animation. The animation cells are then developed from the concept drawings. The drawings and the cells are not necessarily the same size. Pluto's unrestored house

The Concept Drawing Not Yet Restored

The Concept Drawing Restored

The drawing was cleaned, pressed and then relined on an acid-free backing.

The Epcot Center Disney Display

For many years Mike prepared an installation of concept paintings which depicted the History of Animation at the Epcot Center at Disneyworld.

Shown on the left is one of the original Concept Drawing and Painting Displays that Mike prepared for the Epcot Center. The work was done on behalf of the Disney Studio Archives.

There is still a display of Disney Animation at the Epcot Center, but it no longer contains the Original Concept Paintings due to their fragility.
